If you've heard the horror stories of self-published authors with a garage full of unsold books, you no longer need to fear!
Print on demand (POD) technology now allows you to print as few as 15 books with the same full-color, laminated cover and interior as traditionally printed bookswith press runs starting at one thousand copies.
How does POD work?
Print on demand books are printed one at a time on a high-tech laser printer. They look
virtually the same as traditionally printed books.
Can I get more copies after my initial order?
You can buy additional books at any time. That’s the joy of POD. You only print as many as you need at the time. Say for instance you’re speaking at a conference and feel you can sell 50 books. Simply call ACW toll-free and have the books sent directly to the location of the conference.
Is POD cost effective?
The only draw-back with POD is that the per-piece cost remains the same from 1 to 5,000 books.
With traditional printing, the more you print, the lower the per-book price becomes.
(See our price chart to see how this works.)
If you’re planning to print over 500 POD books, it is wise to check the price for 1,000 traditional books.
It may be cheaper to go traditional printing at that pointand get twice as many books.
